Hopes high that slump in real estate sales has turned corner

A home in Ashby Heights was sold in less than two weeks, signalling buyers are re-entering the market and accepting realistic prices, according to real estate agents.
The three-bedroom house was three years old and in beautiful condition, and the buyers had put a deposit down and signed a contract within hours of seeing it.
The house was only advertised over two weekends before having a sold sign put up last week.
There is no doubt the market has picked up since January and sales were up on last year.
Sales in Yamba for the year are “better than they have been for almost two years,” according to the market update from First National, Yamba.
But the prices being achieved are considerably down on two years ago, “a trend that seems to be the norm along the NSW coast”.
